Welcome to West Ferry Yoga: A Viniyoga and Wellness Practice
What is Viniyoga?
“Viniyoga is an ancient Sanskrit word that implies adaptation and appropriate application. It is an approach to yoga practice that adapts the tools of yoga to the unique condition, needs and interests of the student. This approach to yoga evolved out of the teachings of R. Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar” (Gary Kraftsow). Each class is designed with a preparatory sequence for each pose. Adaptations and modifications of the poses match the unique needs of the individual students. Although poses may look slightly different in every body, our movements in unison create community and a sense of oneness.

Viniyoga Therapy and Wellness Practices are a holistic approach to well-being. We achieve balance by exploring and attending to 5 levels of being or panchamaya: physical, energetic, mental/emotional, wisdom and divine nature. With guidance and the tools of yoga and energy medicine you can identify and unravel the places of struggle and gather the teachings and wisdom to maintain clarity, stability and reflection in everyday living.
